The earth consists of 70% water. However, only a small portion of it is fit for drinking. Water sustains human life. Without water there would be no life. While the supply seems abundant, Water is not a limitless resource. Without conservation efforts, this important supply of water may get exhausted. The development of industry, agriculture, and technology lead to water pollution. Among plenty of reasons for water pollution, one of the major ones is sewage. Over-consumption of water can break down local water-treatment plants, resulting in some water being forced through before being fully treated, which can create health hazards.

A day without water would be really tough as the human body consists of 70% per cent water itself. A person can live without water for only a week. If there was a day without water then the farmers would suffer, as they would not have water for their plants, and the lands would fall dry. Many people would fall sick without water to drink and be hospitalized. The prices of packaged water would increase very quickly. Nobody would be able to cook, clean, or take a bath. The surroundings would not feel hygienic at all. The world would fall into chaos. The environmental cycle will become unbalanced. People would be hungry as water is the main resource used for growing and cooking food.

We have all developed the bad habit of letting the water in the sink run while we brush our teeth or wait for a cold glass of water. Keeping a pitcher of water in the refrigerator or turning the pipe off while we brush our teeth can save a lot of water each day! It is really simple, before you turn on the tap, think of ways you can use less water to accomplish the work. We should teach your community to save water. Just as it is important to conserve water in our own homes, it is important to help our towns and cities save water, by teaching others to use water wisely. In agricultural areas, water may be saved by using better irrigation methods like drip-irrigation. In industrial areas, companies can save water by reusing it and by treating industrial wastes. Cities and towns can save water by fixing leaking pipes and cleaning sewers. Waste water can be treated and reused. As you conserve water at home and in your community, you will help ensure that the water available now meets the growing water needs of the future. I hope that the earth would never see A DAY WITHOUT WATER.
