Monsoon season
The rainy season is the most awaited season. The Earth is parched and is in dire need of water. In this season, children splash in puddles and they are carefree. The farmer also get sufficient water for their crops.
Before the rains it is very humid and there is excessive, unbearable heat. Many puffs of grey clouds are seen. Sometimes the sky is pregnant with water which is the indication of rains. Most of the people, animals and birds don't move out from their houses and it is very calm and silent. Some of the people and animals are still caught unaware and drenched in water. Some people are lucky as they find shelter but the others have to run helter-skelter in search of shelter.
People always like a drizzle as it does not cause much harm and is very soothing. Sometimes heavy downpours are such that people fear leaving their houses. Often it rains like cats and dogs. It is always safer to carry an umbrella because you may never know when it will rain in buckets. The heavens just open and it rains profusely.
When the rain starts the people carry umbrellas to cover their bodies from getting wet. Sometimes the wind is very strong and we have to hold the umbrella very tightly but still we feel the tug. It rains very persistently and the wind blows strongly and our umbrellas get upturned and some are blown away too. Little children are seen making paper boats and floating them. They also splash in puddles and enjoy thoroughly. It is also the season of disease.
When monsoon settles in we can hear the crash of thunder and see the flash of lightning which causes a lot of trouble. The heavy drumming is heard on the windows and battering of rain is heard on the roof. It is a truly uplifting season. It is my favourite season and I love it a lot.
