India is my motherland. I feel very lucky and proud to be an Indian. India is named after a river called the Indus river. India is situated in the southern part of Asia.
This is a land of festivals. People of different cultures and religions celebrate different festivals almost the whole year with happiness and peace. Festivals in India is one of the major things which unites the whole country. Some of the main festivals celebrated in India are- Diwali, Holi, Ramazan, Christmas and Raksha Bandhan. In India you can see different people with different castes and religions celebrating a festival together without any problem which is one of the things which makes me feel proud to be an Indian.
India is a place where many legends have taken birth like Mahatma Gandhi, APJ Abdul Kalam, Sarojini Naidu etc. the list is never ending. There are several tourist places in India like- Kerala which is known as god’s own country, Shimla, Andaman and Nicobar Island a small Island of India. If you visit some of the hills stations of India you will feel like visiting heaven. India is home to one of the seven wonders of the world. It is the most beautifully designed monument in the world and it is Taj Mahal which is situated in Agra. People from various places visit Taj Mahal, it is famous for its structure and history.
India is a perfect destination for food. You can get a variety of food in different parts of India like in Punjab you can get ‘ Sarso Ka Saag and Makki ki roti’, in Gujarat Dhokla, in Kerala Idlli Sambhar etc.
After seeing all this you feel so proud to be a part and a honest citizen of India. If I get a chance to choose a place for my second birth I will always choose my favourite place India without any doubt.
